8:45 Teachers and students gather at pavilion stage for instructions
9:15 – 11:00 Students visit artists and demonstration booths in groups
11:00 Teachers & students visit artisans, demonstrators, arena events at leisure
11:30 Lunch break
12:00 Hoop dance on pavilion stage
12:30 Arvel Bird (Paiute) – Native American Music in arena
1:00 – 1:20 Chickasaw Nation Dance Troupe in arena / Snake dance
2:30 School day events end

The Pioneer living history log cabin will be open 10:00–3:00.

Special Friday Evening Music Event!!!

A concert featuring music by Injunuity and Arvel Bird will be held at the Florence Public Library on Friday, September 11th from 6:00p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Bring your lawn chairs and join us at the front of the library for an evening of great entertainment from these award winning artists. Experience Native American heritage, culture, and history through the violin, guitar, and native flute of these extraordinary musicians. This event is sponsored by the Oka Kapassa Festival, Alabama State Council on the Arts, and Florence Lauderdale Public Library. Admission is free.

8:00 Trolley to Tuscumbia Landing leaves park for Walk of Life – Community invited.
9:00 Walk of Life begins at Tuscumbia Landing.
9:00 Park opens – Native American crafts, demonstrations, Native foods and music
9:45 Freeman Owle (Cherokee) – Opening remarks
10:00 Walk of Life participants arrive in park
10:30 Introduction of special guests, speakers and Committee welcome
11:00 Grand entry of Native Americans and Salute to Veterans
11:30 Chickasaw Nation Dance Troupe
11:50 Eastern Band Cherokee Dancers
12:10 Hoop Dance – Lyndon Alec (Alabama)
